Beautiful handwriting begins with the experience of writing, not the finished result.
In this lesson, we looked at how handwriting has evolved over time, from the beautiful but slower styles of the past to faster, more practical forms of handwriting. As writing became more efficient, some of that beauty was lost along the way.
Today you will practice:
Remember, you do not need to keep your pen on the page the entire time. Even when letters appear beautifully connected, you can lift your pen whenever you need to reposition your hand, then continue the stroke so the finished writing still looks connected and flowing.
Be intentional. Give yourself permission to slow down enough to notice each stroke and move slowly. Enjoy the relaxing flow.
Grab a pen and your Day 1 practice sheet, or a blank page. Start with a simple zigzag/straight-line exercise -- the video shows you exactly how.

Mindset shift: Writing beautifully is worth slowing down for. We’re not trying to get words onto the page as efficiently as possible; for these few minutes, we’re creating something with care.
